Deputy Mayor of Preston City Council, Cllr Nweeda Khan, was among the guests at ‘Cama Sood Hara’, which ran for a week at the Preston Arc Cinema.

The film will now go on to show at venues in Nottingham, Birmingham and Leicester.

The documentary was also shot across the UK, India and Spain, with the title of the film, a spin on a famous Indian scripture.

Nottingham-based filmmaker and barrister Haresh Sood highlights the ‘discrimination, taunts, comments, and amusing views’ he had to endure within what he describes as the ‘dark underbelly’ of the Indian matrimonial system.
