LIFESTYLE: Dr. Anitha Rangaswamy to attend the Exclusive North-West Red-Carpet Premiere of Cama Sood Hara, in Preston, Arc Cinema, 15th August 2025, in celebration of India's Independence Day, at 7pm.

After the overwhelming response across the UK, Ireland and Scotland, Cama Sood Hara is about to mesmerise the audience in the North-West of England in Preston, Lancashire at the VIP screening at the Arc Cinema on 15th August 2025. See the trailer below.
Dr. Anitha Rangaswamy, a General Practitioner based in Preston, has carved her niche in the heart of Preston's South Asian Community by promoting health and culture.
She is a first-generation immigrant, with a a deep understanding of the cultural and social dynamics that shape health and wellbeing in diverse communities. With over two decades of experience in women’s health and general practice, she currently serves as a partner at a GP surgery in Preston. Anitha is committed to delivering holistic, compassionate care to the communities she serves.
In addition to her clinical work as a GP partner, she has served as a Director of the local Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), contributing to service development in areas such as safeguarding vulnerable groups and women’s health. Her GP Practise is a part of a large Primary Care Network, which conducts outreach clinics for the homeless and sex workers. This is carried out collaboration with Preston City Council and social services. She is passionate about tackling social inequality and has actively promoted public health initiatives, including engaging with women at the Preston Muslim Women’s Forum to raise awareness around Covid vaccination. She also recognises the growing challenges of loneliness and social isolation within immigrant communities, and advocates for stronger, more inclusive support systems across social and health care to meet these needs.

In Preston, She has been dedicated to promoting cultural inclusivity and preserving our Indian heritage through local initiatives. One such passion project is Saree Spree, which she helped to establish as one of the founder members and has had the honour of hosting for three consecutive years. More than just a celebration of the saree, it’s a platform that fosters confidence, creativity, diversity, and cultural pride among women of all backgrounds.
She is a proud mother of two, with a daughter who is an Indian classical dancer. Anitha says 'Watching her grow and perform within the Indian classical arts scene in Preston has been a source of immense joy and pride'. 'Balancing her professional and cultural passions has been incredibly fulfilling' Anitha adds. Whether she is consulting with patients, collaborating with health leaders, or celebrating culture on stage, her aim is to uplift, connect, and make a meaningful impact in every space she occupies.
