LECTURE: Reshpal Singh Bilkhu to attend the VIP Exclusive North-West Red-Carpet Premiere of Cama Sood Hara, in Preston, at Arc Cinema, 15th August 2025, in celebration of India's Independence Day, at 7pm.

A results-oriented professional, specialising in strategic thinking and relationship management, with exceptional negotiation and communication skills. Reshpal Singh Bilkhu has demonstrated his success in leading teams and formulating business strategies that align with organisational objectives. He is committed to driving revenue growth and expanding market presence.

He started his working life in 1972 as a Sales Manager at Lewis’s which is part of the Selfridges Group, in Blackpool. He then went onto work as a Dry-Goods Sales Manager at Cooperative Ltd from 1985 to 1999. In 1993 he started Lecturing at Lancaster University Preston College and the Hindu Mandir, Preston, whilst simultaneously working at LWL CJ Ltd where he was a General manager and trainer until 2000. Between 2000 to 2001 he worked as a field sales manager for a gas company, moving onto becoming a first line manager and trainer for the Accident Group in Manchester. Following this he became an investment advisor from 2004 which took him to testing online insurance systems. Before he retired in 2012, he worked as a manager of business development & sales – Opal/Talk Talk Group, Preston, Lancashire. 

He was educated at Mwanza Public School, Tanzania, East Africa   between 1946-1957, where he qualified with Cambridge GCSE’s. He achieved a distinction at School as the Prefect/Head Boy. He served as a Troop Leader in the School’s Boy Scout movement, reaching King Scout Level, and had the honour of representing Tanzania at the World Scout Jamboree held in Sutton Coldfield in 1958. Between 1958-60 he qualified from Salford Tech - Lancashire with A-Levels in Pure & Applied Maths, Chemistry and Physics. Between 1991-93 he obtained ​ A-Level's in Gujarati and Punjabi with an RSA Bi-Lingual Teaching Certificate.

Over the years, he has Instructed Medical Doctors and Police Officers to communicate with  non-English speaking ethnic communities in Lancashire; taught Self-assessment, Integration & Communal awareness, Cultural methods and Faith issues to a cross-section of adult students.

Reshpal is an avid photographer who studied Portraiture up to C&G level- Blackpool Technical College  between 1969-1971 going onto win awards for Photography in the Photo competitions.  He has carried out Photography extensively with Manchester University/Royal College of Arts, Manchester

and the Institute of Incorporated Photographers, now IBP between1960-1968.

​His social profile is equally as elaborate, he is part of the following; 

  • Member of Blackpool Council Faith Forum

  • Trustee and Secretary of Fylde Coast Hindu Society Charity

  • Trustee and former Stage Secretary of Guru Nanak Gurdwara, Preston

  • Serving in West Lancs Police, IAG Blackpool Division

  • Officer of West Lancs Masonic Charities

  • Teaching Sikhi and Hinduism in Fylde area  schools

  • Speaker at various faith meetings

  • Regular Speaker at the UK Armed Forces Day and Remembrance Day Parades.

His hobbies are, oil/ water colour Painting, singing, music, c (Harmonium), gardening, travelling and going on long walks.​

He says his most memorable moment was his wedding which was took place on a leap year in 1976, (February 29th). His achievements have been exemplary as he has had the honour and privilege of being presented to late HM Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip during their visit to Salford University in 1959. He was also selected for the Salford University and Manchester YMCA Hockey teams in 1959.

Reshpal's work in Lecturing and community service is a true  example of the and resonates deeply with the importance of the film.
