LEAVE: NDAS TO ATTEND AS VIPS AT THE #CSH SCREENING AT ARC CINEMA DAVENTRY ON 3RD APRIL AT 7.00PM

Barrister Haresh Sood's second film Cama Sood Hara, is engaging new audience wherever it travels.

The film which highlights the dark underbelly of the Indian matrimonial system amongst many other topics, has been provoking immense discussion. See the trailer below:

As a Barrister and Filmmaker with a background in educational. Haresh is always keen to educate people through his work and projects. On this occasion, he and his production team have invited NDAS  (Northamptonshire Domestic Abuse Service), which began under the name of Northampton Women’s Aid in 1976. Originally staffed by volunteers the organisation has changed a great deal since then but has always been dedicated to helping and supporting the victims of domestic abuse.

NDAS say: 'Our experience and statistics tell us that women are the main victims of domestic abuse. Much of the work we do is supporting women. However, this is not inclusive. We have helped and continue to support victims and survivors from all genders and walks of life, covering all ethnicities, socio-economic statuses, sexual orientations and religions.

Emily Zdunczyk  will also be in attendance who is a Domestic Abuse Specialist. She says 'I have worked for NDAS for almost two years specialising in supporting adult victim/survivors of domestic abuse.  Support is delivered through 1:1 sessions as well as through our extensive groupwork programme offer.  We offer person centred support with a trauma informed approach, placing the victim/survivor at the centre of their recovery journey and empowering them to take back control of their own lives.'

In addition to the fabulous reviews the film has had as seen in the red carpet footage above, The film highlights many 'L' words we overlook in our life to help us overcome challenges and in this case the word 'Leave' is something we fail to understand. Haresh says 'sometimes we need to leave relationships and also get out of pressured environments which lead to abusive situations. Sadly in our culture, the pressure can also come from parents to men and women which in itself can be another form of abuse forcing you to get married. For this reason, we are delighted to have experts from an abuse charity come and watch the film. I also know how important it is for charities like this to survive and thus encourage everyone to contribute whatever they can by clicking here'

Whilst Haresh's first film My Nieces Big Fat Delhi Wedding, took over 100 international film festivals by storm in 2021 left audiences laughing, this film is branded as 'thought provoking, educational and eye-opening'!

The true star of the film is Pancho, Haresh's chocolate Labrador who is attending every screening giving audiences 'Paw'tographs.
