After the overwhelming response across the UK, Ireland and Scotland, Cama Sood Hara is about to mesmerise the audience in the North-West of England in Preston, Lancashire at the VIP screening at the Animate Arc Cinema on 15th August 2025. See the trailer below.

Councillor Nweeda Khan is no ordinary Councillor, known as the pride of Preston, she is the Labour Councillor for Plungington, and the key member champion for communities and women. She has been a Councillor for almost 10 years and became the first Asian woman to serve as an Executive Member holding a cabinet portfolio in her local council. Her leadership has been highly commended and she has been recognised for her integrity, inclusivity, and commitment to serving all communities. In May 2025, she was deeply honoured to be appointed Deputy Mayor, becoming the first Asian Muslim woman to hold this esteemed position.

With over 45 years of deep-rooted experience in the UK, particularly in Lancashire, Nweeda brings a lifelong commitment to public service, community development, and social justice. Originally from Pakistan and a proud Muslim, she has worked tirelessly across both statutory and voluntary sectors, dedicating her career to promoting inclusion, supporting vulnerable communities, and building bridges across cultural and faith divides.

Her professional background is in education, social work, and policy development, with a strong focus on advocacy for BAME communities. She has served on numerous community and faith-based initiatives, championing causes close to her  heart particularly those focused on humanitarian relief, women’s rights, and interfaith cooperation. She is honoured to serve as an ambassador for a Pakistan-based NGO supporting women, and sits as a trustee on the boards of several UK-based charities. She says 'My passion for justice extends internationally. I have stood in solidarity with communities in Bosnia and Palestine, and I proudly serve as a champion for Remembering Srebrenica—ensuring that the lessons of the past inform a more peaceful and cohesive future'.

'Community cohesion, representation, and empowering marginalised voices are the cornerstones of my work. Whether through policy, direct service, or advocacy, I remain dedicated to ensuring that every community feels seen, heard, and valued', she adds.

In Preston, the Pakistan population is around 6% of the total population, and the Indian population is larger at 13%.
